CoorsTek, a global technical ceramics manufacturer, launched a new training program and facility for workers re-entering the job market Thursday.

Partnering with Mile High WorkShop and Activate Workforce Solutions, the CoorsTek SELECT Center in Aurora trains potential employees to work with advanced mechanical equipment specific to CoorsTek operations.

“We are excited to launch this program which supports and trains employees through hands-on work coupled with soft skills development,” said CoorsTek Co-CEO Michael Coors. “There is a strong need for manufacturing talent in the Denver area and CoorsTek is proud to partner with Mile High WorkShop and Activate Workforce Solutions to bridge the gap between technical skills training and careers in manufacturing.”

Program participants are selected from a pool of candidates by Mile High WorkShop, an organization that specializes in employment and training programs for individuals reentering the workforce, and Activate Workforce provides ongoing professional support throughout the three week program.

Upon completion, trainees are considered for full-time positions at one of CoorsTek’s manufacturing locations. The 2017 soft launch graduated five participants who now work at the CoorsTek 9th Street facility in Golden.
